When I first opened Christy’s Boutique back in 2008, I was full of dreams, nerves, and hope. Like every small business owner, I wanted to create something special; a place where women could come to find clothes they loved, where style met community, and where faith was at the heart of it all.
One of the very first things I did in that little storefront was hang a cross on the front wall. To most, it might have looked like simple décor, but for me, it was a declaration. This business would be built on faith, guided by God, and surrendered to His plan.
That cross wasn’t just a decoration. It was a promise and a reminder of Who would be walking with me through every decision, every season, and every challenge.
A Cross That Has Stood the Test of Time
Over the past 17 years, Christy’s Boutique has moved, expanded, and evolved. We’ve refreshed the paint, rearranged displays, and kept up with the trends. But through every transition, one thing has remained the same: that beautiful cross.
It has traveled with me from storefront to storefront and still hangs proudly at the front of Christy’s Boutique today. Weathered by time, yet standing strong... Much like the journey of this little business.
More Than Just a Backdrop
Over the years, so many of you (our beloved Christy’s Trendsetters) have posed in front of that cross. If you’ve ever been part of our story, chances are you’ve had your picture taken there.
It’s been the backdrop for new arrivals photoshoots, holiday launches, and milestone celebrations. Some of you have stood there grinning ear-to-ear with your first pair of boutique jeans.
Others have snapped selfies with friends during shopping trips. And for many of you, that cross has quietly stood behind you in moments that were about more than fashion; it has been a silent witness to so many memories.
A Symbol of God’s Faithfulness
Customers often notice the cross and comment on it. Some have even told me it was what drew them inside. For me, it’s always been more than metal on a wall; it’s a testimony.
That cross has been there through every leap of faith, every answered prayer, every hard season, and every blessing I never saw coming. It has seen the highs and lows of small business life... Fom late nights wondering how to make it all work to the joy of watching this business grow into something beyond what I could have imagined.
Every time I look at it, I’m reminded that no matter how much life changes, one thing never does: God’s love and faithfulness.
